The Skin Longevity Edit: Irene Forte on Glow, SPF and Skincare Rituals
For Irene Forte, healthy skin is less about doing more and more about doing the right things consistently. Her approach goes beyond skincare, bringing together barrier protection, SPF, sleep and nourishment to build resilient, radiant skin - a glimpse into the principles she’ll explore in her Longevity Skincare Masterclass at ALMA this September.

What does your summer skincare protocol look like?
I lighten rather than overhaul. I double cleanse more in the heat, and swap my Phytomelatonin Rejuvenating Eye Cream for the lighter Olive Hydrating Eye Cream during the day. Normally I use Hibiscus Rejuvenating Night Cream both day and night, but in summer I swap in Prickly Pear Revitalising Cream for the day – it’s lighter when my skin wants less richness in the heat. SPF gets upgraded too – I move to Heliocare 360° Pigment Solution Fluid SPF 50+, a higherprotection, oil-free formula, for the summer months.
On the body, I exfoliate more regularly with the Red Algae Resurfacing Body Exfoliator to keep skin smooth and ready for the sun, then follow with the Pistachio Body Oil to lock in moisture – it pairs Sicilian Pistachio Oil with Dr. Ferri’APM™, a patented Phytomelatonin technology, and it’s what keeps my skin feeling plump through the heat rather than dried out by it. The one thing that never moves is the order of operations – cleanse, tone, serum, eye cream, moisturiser, SPF, every day, all year.

Is glowing skin something we are born with, or something we build every day?
Built, without question. Genetics set a starting point, but glow is really the visible sign of a skin barrier that’s being protected daily against things like inflammation and oxidation. Consistency does more for radiance than any single product or treatment ever will.
If you could recommend just one daily ritual for healthier, more resilient skin, what would it be?
SPF, without exception. It’s the single ritual that protects everything else you’re doing – your actives, your barrier, your investment in the rest of your routine. Skip it and you’re working against yourself
“SPF, without exception.”

If your summer vanity could hold just one Irene Forte Skincare product, which would it be, and what makes it your hero?
Hibiscus Rejuvenating Night Cream. Even in summer, it stays on at night – it’s built around Myoxinol™, the neuropeptide we extract from hibiscus seeds, which relaxes muscle cell contractions and eases the tension behind expression lines. After a day in the sun, that overnight repair is exactly what my skin needs most, and it’s the one product I genuinely cannot live without, in any season.

What is one summer skincare myth you wish everyone would stop believing?
That heat is a reason to skip moisturiser. It’s the opposite – a compromised barrier is exactly what turns ordinary sun exposure into redness, sensitivity and faster ageing. Hydration should continue in the summer, not go down.
If healthy skin is a reflection of overall wellbeing, what should we be paying more attention to beyond our skincare routine?
Sleep, above everything. No product can substitute for what real rest does. I think healthy skin and genuine wellbeing are really the same pursuit, not two separate things – skin is part of the same system as sleep, diet, movement and mental state. I really believe in the Mediterranean rhythm: eating well and not rushing meals, moving outdoors, community, family, etc.

This September, you will be hosting a Longevity Skincare Masterclass at ALMA. What can guests expect to experience, and why should they not miss it?
Guests will get to experience the brand at Verdura – the home of our skincare and our organic farm, right by an emerging blue zone. It’s a hands-on masterclass grounded in the science behind our formulations, in the same place many of our ingredients are grown. I’ll be sharing tips and tricks on how to layer and apply products for the best results. I love being able to explain my philosophy where my brand actually started – there’s no more honest way to do it.
Experience Irene Forte at ALMA Festival this September.
